The Credit Junction is the first data-driven asset based lending platform and is transforming the way small and mid-sized businesses access working capital, growth and supply chain financing solutions. The company combines technology and data intelligence with traditional asset-based credit metrics and offers up to $7.5 million in capital availability. The Credit Junction targets growth-oriented suppliers, distributors and manufacturers typically with revenues between $5M and $50M.

The financing that the company provides not only helps small businesses access the capital they need, but also stimulates job creation and bolsters community development in local towns, cities and regions across the US and Canada.

CEO & Founder

Michael has assembled and leads a team to fulfill his vision of revolutionizing small business lending. He has been an operational and financial executive at primarily high-growth companies within the technology, financial services and infrastructure industries for the past 15 years. Michael started his career in corporate finance at Salomon Brothers. He holds a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.


Chief Credit Officer

Jim oversees the credit, underwriting, and risk management functions of the company. Prior to joining us, Jim was most recently SVP, Portfolio and Underwriting Leader for GE Capital, where he spent nearly 15 years in a variety of positions, including head of workouts. Previously, Jim has held senior level positions at Congress Financial, Bank of America and Citicorp. Jim graduated from Brooklyn College, CUNY.


Chief Technology Officer

Daniel translates the business vision into a technology strategy and leads the product development team. He has served over 100 companies in finance, education, media, health and publishing, from small startups to Fortune 100s including Citibank, MasterCard, and Goldman Sachs. Prior to joining us, Daniel directed the Innovation and Entrepreneurship program at Mount Sinai in NYC. Daniel graduated from Wesleyan University.


Head of Financial Partnerships

Mac oversees the company’s financial partnership relationships and is in charge of sourcing deal flow. He brings over 15 years of lending and capital markets experience where he most recently held positions as Director of Capital Markets at Stifel Nicolaus and Vice President of Debt Capital Markets at Cantor Fitzgerald. Mac earned an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS in Economics from the University of Michigan.


Head of Credit Operations

Bill is responsible for overseeing our internal credit operations. He brings to TCJ over 18 years of experience in domestic and international corporate finance advisory, valuation advisory, private equity investing, and commercial banking. Previously, he worked for Laud Collier Capital, Revere Merchant Capital, Kildare Capital, AmperIB and WestLB Securities. Bill has advised clients in various industries including: industrial manufacturing, logistics, transportation and business services. Bill holds a B.S. in Finance from Providence College and an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University.


Senior Vice President, Credit

Rich’s role is to guide our prospective customers through the pre-funding diligence and onboarding stages of their relationship with The Credit Junction. Before joining the team, Rich worked in various underwriting, portfolio management, and credit based leadership roles for Bank of America, Citibank, and Capital One, spending his entire career in the asset based field. Rich graduated from the University of Maine with a B.S. in Finance and held Series 7, 24, and 63 securities licenses. 


Senior Vice President, Technology

Matt oversees technology development and strategy within the company. Matt was most recently the Executive Director of Technology at Amplify, where he helped grow the technology team from 4 to over 150 people. Matt also has 12+ years of consulting experience, most recently as a Manager and Technical Architect at Roundarch. He studied Computer Engineering at Boston University.



Vice President, Product

Christina oversees the research, design, and development of new technology products to enrich our lending platform. She joined us from the education technology space, most recently leading project management and business operations at Knewton. Christina started her career in business analysis at Goldman Sachs. She holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from The Cooper Union.

CEO & Founder, The Credit Junction

Managing Director, Century Equity Partners

Mr. Lalonde joined Century in 2002. Mr. Lalonde has more than 20 years experience in various financial operating roles and private equity investing. Prior to joining Century, Mr. Lalonde was an Analyst with Lucent Venture Partners and is a graduate of Lucent Technologies’ Financial Leadership Development Program where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and held various other corporate finance positions both domestically and internationally. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of Lender Performance Group, LLC; Santa Rosa Holdings, LLC, Flores & Associates, LLC and PatientMatters Holdings, LLC. Mr. Lalonde had previously served as a Board Member of Thompson Insurance Enterprises, LLC and Digital Risk, LLC. Mr. Lalonde earned a BA in Economics from Boston College and a Masters in Accounting, Entrepreneurial Finance and Strategic Cost Management from Babson College.



CEO, GLI Finance

Andrew has over 25 years investment experience and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. Prior to founding Sancus in 2013, Andrew was a founding partner of Ermitage Group following its MBO in 2006 from Liberty Life, backed by Caledonia Investments. He left Ermitage following its successful sale to Nexar Capital Group in July 2011 and after a period of gardening leave joined International Asset Monitor as Managing Director to launch a new UK branch in Jersey, Channel Islands.

Andrew joined Liberty Ermitage in 2001 and was a Group Executive Director and Managing Director of Ermitage Global Wealth Management (Jersey) Limited, UK. He was also CIO of Ermitage’s Wealth Management business and products and during his 10 year tenure won multiple investment awards. Prior to Liberty Ermitage Andrew worked for Kleinwort Benson part of the Dresdner Private Banking Group and started his career with Morgan Grenfell in 1987.

He has been recognised in the Citywealth Leaders List since 2007 and is also a member of the Retained Global Speaker programme for the CFA Society.



Former Co-CEO, CIFC Asset Management

Oliver has twenty five years of experience in lending, structuring, portfolio management and business development. He most recently served as the Co-CEO of CIFC, a U.S. private debt manager with $20 billion of assets under management. Prior to joining CIFC, Oliver was a Managing Director in Providence Equity Partner’s Capital Markets Group based in New York. Prior to joining Providence, he was a Partner at Sciens Capital Management following a four-year stint as Partner and Global Co-Head of Marketing and Structured Products at GoldenTree Asset Management. Oliver also spent six years at Deutsche Bank in both London and New York, where he held several sales management positions. Oliver started his career at NORD/LB in 1993 with stints in Hanover, Singapore and New York.

Oliver received a B.A. in History and Economics from Duke University.

Kipp Deveer, The Credit Junction


Senior Partner and Co-Head of the Direct Lending Group

In addition to his roles listed above, Kipp is a member of the Management Committee of Ares Management. He also serves as Chief Executive Officer of Ares Capital Corporation. Prior to joining Ares Management in May 2004, Kipp was a partner at RBC Capital Partners, a division of Royal Bank of Canada, which led the firm's middle market financing and principal investment business. Kipp joined RBC in October 2001 from Indosuez Capital, where he was Vice President in the Merchant Banking Group. He has also worked at J.P. Morgan and Co., both in the Special Investment Group of J.P. Morgan Investment Management, Inc. and the Investment Banking Division of J.P. Morgan Securities Inc.

Kipp received a B.A. from Yale University and an M.B.A. from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.


Tom Epley, The Credit Junction


Renowned Turnaround CEO

Tom is a turnaround CEO with an unparalleled track record of success in rescuing failing companies. For more than thirty years, Tom served as the general manager, president, CEO, and/or chairman of more than a dozen corporations, divisions, or subsidiaries spanning a variety of industries. Under Tom's management, each organization that he worked with rebounded and produced an immensely profitable return for its owners. Remarkably, Tom’s 100 percent success rate was accomplished without him having had any prior experience of the business, industry, products, or markets of any of these companies.

Tom, who received his MBA at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, is a member of the Board of Governors and the Executive Committee at UCLA’s Anderson Graduate School of Management and a member of the Board of Trustees at the Frederick S. Pardee RAND Graduate School in Policy Analysis.


Carlo Tabibi, The Credit Junction


Co-Founder and Chairman of the Board at Patch of Land

For over 20 years, Carlo has operated, developed, and invested in real estate, both domestically and overseas, dealing in over $200M in transactions to date. For the past 5 years, he has lent to real estate operators through the hard money marketplace. Carlo has also helped build multiple online retail businesses. He is also the co-founder and current board member at Tabcom.com, and has actively invested in technology companies for over 15 years.

Carlo holds a BS in Real Estate & Finance from the University of Southern California, and studied law at Loyola Law School.


Kim Taipale, The Credit Junction


Executive Director of the Stilwell Center

Kim is the managing partner of Stilwell Holding LLC, a private investment firm; a director of the Stilwell Charitable Fund; a senior fellow at the World Policy Institute; and serves on the Markle Task Force on National Security in the Information Age. He has served on the board or advisory board of several companies and non-profit organizations. Previously, he was a senior fellow at Columbia University, an investment banker at Lazard Freres & Co, an executive at The Pullman Company, and a lawyer at Davis Polk & Wardwell.

Kim received his B.A. and J.D. from New York University, his M.A. and Ed.M. from Columbia University and his LL.M. from the Columbia Law School.

Curtis Brown, The Credit Junction


Chief Content and Technology Officer, Dun & Bradstreet

Curtis Brown currently serves as the Chief Content and Technology Officer for Dun and Bradstreet and is responsible for all company data, analytics, technology, security and project management. Brown joined Dun & Bradstreet as their Chief Information Officer in September 2014. Previously Brown served as AOL's EVP and Global Chief Technology Officer. Earlier at AOL Brown served as SVP of Technology and Chief Data Officer. Brown is a technology leader with over 25 years of experience across a range of media, internet, information and education-technology driven businesses. He has an extensive background in technical and corporate transformation, building very large scale systems and high performing teams. An Internet pioneer, Brown built and launched one of the first music e-commerce sites, MusicBoulevard/CDNow, in 1995. He has held the title of CTO at Skymall, Oxygen Media, The Princeton Review, McGraw-Hill, Washington Post/Kaplan and AOL Inc. Brown has lectured at Columbia University in the field of Executive Information Technology Management and the Naval Post-Graduate School on Information Security.




Product Manager at Google

Michael Winser has been building software applications and platforms for over 30 years. His passion for software engineering excellence and innovation is undimmed by the many applications and projects he has shipped. Michael has worked on everything from Internet Explorer to XBox to the kitchen sink (well, kitchen design software). Michael cut his teeth at Microsoft over more than 16 years and many different roles. He then spent 10 years as a CTO in startups working in gaming, healthcare, education, publishing and analytics. Today, Michael is a Product Manager at Google working on the next generation of Google Cloud Platform.




Chief Information Security Officer for Circle

Scott Matsumoto is the Chief Information Security Officer for Circle. Mr. Matsumoto brings decades of security and software engineering experience. Prior to joining Circle, Mr. Matsumoto was a Principal Consultant at Cigital Inc, the largest software security consultancy in the United States, where he led the Mobile Security and Security Architecture practices. In addition to leading two practices at Cigital, he was a founding member of the Cloud Security Alliance. His software engineering experience encompasses development of component-based middleware, performance management systems, graphical UIs, language compilers, database management systems and operating system kernels.


Daniel Tunkelang, The Credit Junction


High-Class Consultant

Daniel Tunkelang is a data science and engineering executive who has built and led some of the strongest teams in the software industry. He's currently working on a stealth startup while advising various companies on search and discovery. He studied computer science and math at MIT and has a PhD in computer science from CMU. He was a founding employee and chief scientist of Endeca, a search pioneer that Oracle acquired for $1.1B. He then led a local search team at Google. After than, he was a director of data science and engineering at LinkedIn, and he established their query understanding team. Daniel is a recognized writer and speaker. He is frequently invited to speak at academic and industry conferences, particularly in the areas of information retrieval, web science, and data science. He wrote the definitive textbook on faceted search (now a standard for ecommerce sites), established an annual symposium on human-computer interaction and information retrieval, and authored 24 US patents.
